A new employee joined Arc90 in September 2008, based neither on a series of intense interviews nor a resume filled with accolades. Tyler Gaw was hired almost exclusively because of his glorious beard. Tyler moved to NYC from St. Louis, Missouri, where he was a freelance Web designer and developer. Arc90 soon realized that beyond having excellent facial hair, he could also put together killer designs and sling hot code on command. Tyler shaved off his beard soon after. For Tyler, a typical day at Arc90 is anything but that. It’s not rare for him to be multitasking between multiple Web and UI designs, writing uber–semantic HTML paired with sweet CSS, while coding JavaScript and PHP.

If he is away from the computer, which rarely happens, Tyler can be found somewhere in NYC, terrorizing concrete on his skateboard, possibly enjoying an adult beverage at any fine or not–so–fine drinking establishment, or raging in the pit at a face–melting punk and/or metal show.
